Barfender Staff and Upgrades: Hiring, Decorations, Expansions

Your bar starts small and understaffed. Every upgrade below is confirmed by the Early Access achievement list; exact prices are still being documented and will be added as they are verified.

Hiring staff

You can hire waiters to take pressure off the serve-clean-defuse loop:

• Full Roster — have 2 staff hired while playing in a 2+ player team
• Collect Them All — employ 10 different staff in one save (staff rotate; don’t marry your first hire)
• Employee of the Month — keep one hire on the payroll for 7 days
• Butterfingers — close a Flawless Night with a Clumsy waiter on shift

That last one tells you staff have traits — Clumsy exists, and hiring blind can sabotage an otherwise perfect night. Read trait lines before you sign anyone.

Decorations and star rating

• Interior Decorator — hit 5 decoration points
• Second Thoughts — paint a wall twice in the same day (redecorating is allowed mid-day)
• Design Award — have a flyer accepted by 10 customers in one day; Hand it to Them — 50 flyers accepted total
• Five Stars — hit max star rating; Hard Way — do it on Hard difficulty

Decorations, flyers and rating form one economy: a prettier, better-advertised bar pulls more customers — which is only good news if your service loop can absorb them.

Space and entertainment

• Knock Through the Wall — buy every expansion (more floor = more tables = more chaos surface)
• DJ — unlock every jukebox playlist
• Live Music — own every instrument
• High Score — beat 250 on the arcade machine (a cabinet in your own bar — play it after closing)

Money management

• Debt Free — repay a loan in full (loans exist if a run goes sideways)
• In the Black — 7 consecutive profitable days
• Perfect Week — 7 flawless days in a row (0 frustrated customers each day — the hard one)
• Five Figures — lifetime earnings milestone
